What we do
The situation - relieving customers of any logistics burden - can be compared to an automatic water tap: when demand arises on the customer side, the supply turns on and off automatically, but customers do not need to worry about where the “water”- the goods - comes from. They can rely on an assured supply without taking care of this themselves.
To turn this vision into practice, HAVI Logistics has developed cutting edge Demand and Supply Planning concepts on a European scale. The overriding objective of these concepts is that the future demand at the point of sale drives the whole supply chain.
The precise demand forecasts are made by means of mathematical statistical methods. In order to explain best the sales history at the point of sale, we determine trends, seasonality and so-called “causal factors”, like for example holidays, weather or promotions. Based on their expected development (e.g. holiday starts) future sales are determined, individually per item and outlet per day (Demand Planning).
Using this sales forecast, the next step is to calculate the required raw materials (Supply Planning).
Taking into account the inventories and goods in transit, the required order volume per material is determined precisely until time of next delivery. All sales items to the customer are covered by the planning system.
The customer benefits from an ideal goods supply as a result of the automation of the order process. Supply to the customer must be ensured at all times; an out-of-stock situation or a shortage is unacceptable.
Furthermore, the whole supply chain right back to the producer receives information on the future demand. This facilitates the optimal steering of the flow of goods. Practically, the individual estimates and assumptions throughout the supply chain of the past are from now on replaced by one set of reliable information which is provided by one single source.
Such a common information platform is a prerequisite for better and balanced coordination of all partners in the supply chain. Additionally, the central planning for the supply chain will not only increase efficiency in the planning process but also by far enhance the quality of planning.
In this way, the close collaboration between suppliers, HAVI Logistics and customers ensures the integrated management of optimal stock levels, highest transportation efficiency and assured supply throughout the whole supply chain!
Consequently HAVI Logistics as Lead Logistics Provider can finally take over the whole management of goods at the customer’s outlets - including ordering, receiving and storing.
